- I just wanted to warn, and inform people of an experience I had with
- US ROBOTICS customers support(haha).
-
- I purchased a new 33.6 US robotics modem. I needed some questions
- answerd. Well, being patient, after a week of sending email questions
- and not getting any answer I decided to call US ROBOTICS customer
- support. Well atleast that is what they call it, haha.
-
- First problem I had was I reached a person with a very strong accent
- who I could barely understand. After trying to fix my problem, and
- being on the phone for 1 hour, at my expense, he basically had my
- login script on my TCPman totally screwed up. Then he said, I'll call
- you back.
-
- Well, he called back, and we played around some more, I had to get a
- back up copy of my login.script so I could log in automatically. He
- then started to change my settings from a ppp connection to a slip
- connection. My service is ppp, but the guy didn't seem to understand
- that, and a few other settings he decided to change. Well, of course
- he only made my problems worse. And of corse, they never did solve
- the problem.
-
- Hopefully after sorting thru info on this newsgroup, and with the help
- of users on here, maybe I'll be able to get a decent connection with
- this 33.6 modem that feels as warm as a heater on the bottom.
-
- Thank god for web pages like the NAVAS FAQ, and others, because
- from my experience, all US ROBOTICS support can do is screw you
- over.
